Project News

We’re delighted to report that Network Partner Dr Choodamanai Nandagopal has been awarded 25 lakhs (25,000 GBP) by the Indian Council for Social Science Research for a project on ‘Changing Dynamics of the Suburbs in the Process of Urban Transformation – With Reference to the Changing Socio-economic Scenario of Bangalore City’.

Recent Talks and Lectures

The Network recently hosted its closing conference (Imagining the Suburbs, University of Exeter, June 2014). A report, programme and abstracts are available here. As part of the conference, the Network published a special issue of the journal Riptide featuring short fiction, poetry and life writing. See here. We also curated an exhibition of material from the Bill Douglas Cinema  Museum on the Suburbs in Cinema.
