Sunday Paper Round Walks
Richard Sunderland has a love of landscapes. He uses a variety of mediums, but prefers oils and watercolours, as well as dabbling with print making and wax resist, alongside which he loves to draw. The works revolve around Structure, Tone, Light and Shadow, motivating and guiding the look of the paintings.
He explains that:
“The New Work Gallery [which includes Sunday Paper Round] represents a visual exploration of my immediate environment. Discovering and responding to the roads, streets and architecture whether man-made or natural in form, looking broadly and looking at details. It is a response that shows the fascination with observing the environment and the pleasure from making responses to what I see.”
